I really hate this dumb thing.. My kid also seems to not like it much. Personal opinion - piece of crap. Low quality.. Joins are just plain horrible.. Whatever the fuss is about this thing, i really dont understand.. Parents, please dont buy this..

The toy looks adorable, and considering I was able to get it for a regular retail price ($35) I am pleased with the purchase. I think the noises the hamster makes are fantastic. Hopefully my niece likes it as much as I do!

I keep reading reviews about these "Zhu-Zhu pet" sellers price gouging and ripping people off. Listen up people no one is making you purchase them for way above retail price. Just be patient and they will come in stock. I just picked mine up today off of Amazon at retail using a desktop alert system that can be installed via [...] This is not a scam this is a legit way to notify you of the availabilty of these creatures and their accessories online. Its free and not a scam! Be a hero and try it.
P.S. dont forget to turn off your screensaver and turn up the volume so you can hear the alarm!

We purchased this for our son a few weeks ago and he loves it! So do all of his friends! The hamster is sturdy and has endless tricks and energy. Much better than the real thing! I think it would interest everyone who is complaining about the private sellers to know that my friend sells on Amazon and she has to pay quite alot for her toys, as she purchases them from a toy supplier and as demand goes up, the prices from the suppliers go way up. Add to that the 20% fee she pays for each item sold, plus time, shipping, etc. and she really doesn't clear all of that much. It's a great convenience for us working moms to be able to purchase online! All of the stores are out of this and she couldn't buy any at the toy stores at the low prices any more than the rest of us could. This is a great toy and lots of fun!

If you want to be notified as soon as Amazon gets them in stock and sells them at retail, here's a tip. There's an Amazon product-availability tool (access it at WhenInStock*com) that will let you know the second they come in. Don't get price-gouged by these affiliate stores that sell them for $60+. If you use this tool, just input the amazon stock number (ANSI) of the Zhu Zhu you want, and it will let you know the second they come in, so you can buy one before they sell out again. Anyway, hope this tip was helpful.
